Because One Size Does NOT Fit All Learners
Teaching Tailors was born when two educators and moms, best friends of over 35 years, began to envision how we could help students at the greatest risk of falling through the cracks, or becoming so bored that they checked out of learning. We knew that parents and teachers were not communicating between home and school, even when each was trying their best to do just that.
It's easy to feel like there's some secret code-- or that parents, teachers, and students are speaking in three different languages about their experience at school, if they even get a chance to talk at all. Finding support and resources to access your student's best learning opportunities is not easy, even for those with experience!
It was frustrating to us, to not have resources that were needed, or people who could navigate the various ins and outs of getting assistance. It was also difficult for our parent peers and other teachers to find appropriate curriculum for those children or students that were either overachievers or under performing, or who simply required different ways of engaging than others.
We believed that if we were missing things, with the experience in the field that both of us have, that others must be also having struggles, and we wanted to help more than our roles as individual educators allowed. For this reason, we designed a business around students with needs and proficiencies that often do not match their peers, with products to help families, educators, and most especially, these STUDENTS!
